After a lot of reflection, we’ve made the difficult decision to shut down PixSnap.
PixSnap was a product of passion. We set out to give modern developers a single, simple platform for the small image and metadata APIs that usually each need their own service — dynamic OG images, customizable QR codes, placeholder images, and URL metadata extraction.
But a product built on passion alone isn’t enough. PixSnap never reached the commercial traction it needed to stay sustainable. Despite all the effort and care that went into building it, it was not commercially successful, and keeping it running was no longer viable.
We’re truly grateful to everyone who tried the product, shared feedback, and supported it along the way. Building it was a rewarding experience, even though it didn’t work out the way we hoped.
